Intro Page Manual
The Intro Page Manual, as known as IPM, is a recommended guide for writing an intro page for your bot, or your server.
This is only a suggestion. If you wish to write your page in another way, it's OK. This manual is for reference only and is not supposed to be a rule.
Before writing...[edit | edit source]
Make sure your server/bot is approved and on the list!
For Servers[edit | edit source]
- Think about what's your server theme.
- Think about any feature of your server.
- 'Bots we have' is not a feature of a server.
- Read Help:Formatting.
- Discuss with your moderators. (Optional)
For Bots[edit | edit source]
- Think about why your bot is different from others.
- Read Help:Formatting.
- Discuss with your partners, if you have. (Optional)
Writing it[edit | edit source]
A one-sentence Intro (Code)[edit | edit source]
Same as in Wikipedia, this sentence is used for people to know what the hell you are talking about.
'''(Server Name/Bot name)''' is a Discord server/bot owned by (Username#Tag).
Example: Lightning is a Discord server owned by Rienknr1#3494.
Basic Info (Code)[edit | edit source]
Because we have a category system (mention later), people may only access this page without accessing the server list. So these info are needed.
For Servers[edit | edit source]
== Basic Info == *'''Server Name:'''(Server Name) *'''Theme:'''(Same as the themes you wrote on the list) *'''Invite Link:''' [(A permanent join link) Join]
For Bots[edit | edit source]
== Basic Info == *'''Bot Name:'''(Bot Name) *'''Features:'''(Same as the features you wrote on the list) *[(A permanent bot link) Add to your server] *[(A permanent join link for your support channel) Support Channel]
Introduction (Completely own words)[edit | edit source]
Now you have to use your own sense to make people know more about your server/bot before you join. A good intro can bring lots of people! Add this to make a new paragraph:
== Description ==
For Servers[edit | edit source]
- What are you guys mainly talking about?
- Are there any features that makes yours different from other servers?
- What's your goal?
- Wanna list any staff? (Optional)
- Make another paragraph is recommended. Like === Staff ===
- Rules? (Another paragraph too, like === Rules ===)
For Bots[edit | edit source]
- Features?
- Stability?
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Use appropriate formatting to show people important stuff.
Category (Code)[edit | edit source]
Both of servers and bots have this feature now.
At the end of the page, write:
[[Category:(Your desired category)]]
You can add more than 1 category, but before you should check the list of categories, go to the category page and see if you are allowed to add this category.
You don't need to add a paragraph to storage your categories. It is automatically shown at the bottom of this page.
[edit | edit source]
Copy this and paste it at the end of the page. Servers Only.
{{NavServ}}
